Breastfeeding through pregnancy and beyond is definitely more common than most people think.. "Adventures in Tandem Nursing" by Hilary Flower is a good resource, as is "Nursing Through Pregnancy and Beyond" by the Nursing Mothers Association of Australia (I'm not sure if it's still in print, though).   I, myself, have nursed through three pregnancies (tandem nursing through two of the three) and am triandem nursing (nursing three siblings of differing ages) for the second time.
