To address a few of Alice's questions on the ILCA conference in Boca, I just
moved from Boca a few years ago and can help with a few.

There is a Catholic Church not far from the hotel. It is St Joan of Arc.
Take Camino Real (where the hotel is) west, cross Federal Hwy, & make a right
on SW 4 Ave. It's right up the road on the right. There is also a synagogue
& a Congregational Church right there for anyone else who might want to
worship.

I can't help with hotel stuff too much. It was too rich a place for my poor
blood! But it is a beautiful luxurious resort and I would expect the rooms to
be nicely appointed. I'm sure there is a way to do laundry there, but it will
probably cost big. Being a "tourist town" there are plenty of laundromats
around if you have transportation. In fact you will pass one on your way to
St Joan's. It will be in the Wynn Dixie shopping center on your right after
you cross the tracks on Camino. At least it used to be there. I used to take
big rugs & bedspreads there.

It is "hurricane season" starting June 1, and tropical storms are always a
possibility. But they are just windy & rainy for the most part. A hurricane
is a big problem but the season doesn't peak until around Labor Day. If
you're concerned, watch the tropics for weather reports on the internet. A
tropical storm wouldn't be a big problem for the conference except the outside
parts. They can mess up air traffic, though. Don't bother trying to bring an
umbrella for a tropical storm! You'll take off like Mary Poppins!

Many good restaurants in town. Just about anything you need can be found
going north on Federal Hwy (US 1). I'm looking forward to seeing many old
friends & checking out old familiar places while I am there. Have fun!
