I am trying to find a connection between BF and cord care. I am having
difficulty. Sorry for this grumpy post, but can we please get back to
BREASTFEEDING?
BTW, the reference to the article in the Swedish medical association journal
refers to a **translation** to Swedish from English of a Cochrane review of
different regimens for cord care. Cochrane reviews are the current gold
standard for surveys of the current GOOD research on any issue at all. Most
medical libraries have complete access to the Cochrane reviews. Try a Google
search if you don't have access. Many of the abstracts from the reviews are
freely available also.

where we bathe babies by immersing them in water from birth on, and don't
routinely use disinfectants on cord stumps, but mothers shower only, making
therapeutic co-bathing difficult in the early weeks. Check WHO statistics to
see how many more US babies die than Norwegian.
