Why does this mother so desperately need fluvastatin??  High
cholesterol levels don't cause damage that quickly - surely a
careful diet can see her through until she weans, then the docs can
treat her with whatever statin they like.
Treating high blood pressure is one thing, but surely cholesterol is
not so vital that everything else has to be sacrificed.
I'm sure the subject has come up on Lactnet before - try checking
the archives.
