Minoxidil has been used in children for decades as an antihypertensive and is
AAP-approved for BF moms, incidentally.

Thanks for the help with anti-HMF sources.

A couple posts missed the point of my request:  I'm aware of the studies
which show a statistical benefit to using HMF.  Fewer days in the hospital,
alk phos lower, Na balanced and so on.  What we used to call "euboxic" in
residency as in "He died but at least he died euboxic."

It is my very strong (unproven!) feeling that any foreign substances in a
VLBW's intestines do more harm than good.  I think that the researcher's
pushed numbers around very well but did not really look hard enough.  On the
other hand, my incredibly strong bias against all use of HMF is not very
scientific either.

More anti-HMF literature if you can find it.
