Hi all,

As promised, here are the final cartoon scenarios agreed upon by Mosby, my
illustrator--and you all! (at least, the ones that voted...):

1) Getting started: Mom & Dad sitting on couch, Mom says, "I'm sure glad we
went to that breastfeeding class!" Dad replies, "Yes, otherwise it would be
like trying to learn ballet from a book!" (thanks to Diane W. for that one!)

2) Returning to work: Two women over coffee: First woman: "So, any new office
gossip?" Second woman: "Now, when they talk about leaks at the office, I
wonder if they're talking about my shirt!" (thanks again to Diane)

3) If problems arise: Mom & Dad on couch, Mom nursing while holding Dad's
hand (hand is cartoon-like SWOLLEN fingers!) as Dad says, "Nipples still a
little tender, are they?" (thanks to Teresa P. for that one)

4) When to wean: Jeremy and his "eat-over" friend won, hands down! Only had a
couple of "maybe nots", no real "nays", so we'll go with it!

By the way, the one for Breast Care for Bottlefeeding Moms has a mom in a
recliner with bags of frozen peas & corn on her chest, Dad walks in & asks,
"Why do you have peas and corn on your chest?" and Mom answers, "Because the
Popsicles kept rolling off!"

The Breast Care for Breastfeeding Moms has a mom standing in a maternity store
next to a rack of bras that says, "Sale on Maternity Bras", and she's
hollering, "I need COMFORT!!"

It's been exciting for me to finally "put my money where my mouth is" and come
up with user-friendly teaching tools that are professionally done, but with
some humor. AND, even ones on fetal development mention breastfeeding AS THE
NORM.

Thanks again for all the suggestions! It's been fun getting all your
WONDERFUL, creative ideas! The book will be debuted at the AWHONN convention
in June (Mosby is an exhibitor)--I hope to be there, despite M-J & R__S.

Smiles,

Carol
