I read this strip all the time, and Wanda (the mother in the strip) has
nursed all three of her babies, in plain site and is always proud of it.

She is a breastfeeding advocate, and VERY strong willed, and I think her
husband Daryl's comment "Once a breastfeeder, always a breastfeeder." Sums
it up, pretty well. And also the point that in this strip, the baby (as per
usual) is firmly attached to Wanda's breast, with no doubt about what is
going on there.

I haven't heard anyone else express this opinion, (that she "believes" the
garbage from the ABM company.) Most people I have shown it to seem to take
it at face value: That she is sick of hearing the lies.

But, this idea, that she might actually "believe" it had never occured to
me. It is an interesting perspective, but I have e-mailed the author and
artist and both of them are staunch breastfeeding advocates, too, and I am
sure they didn't have that meaning in mind.
