How's this for a thought?
Hercules was not Hera's birth son, but was her step son.  (we know
this...here is my thought:)
Hera decided to take Hercules and raise him as her own, but Hercules (smart
baby that he was) knew she was not his real mother, so in retaliation for
being taken away from his real mommy, bit Hera when she tried to BF him!
Thus, the milk from Hera (who had pumped like the dickens to bring in a milk
supply since no stupid mortal had made ABM yet) spraying from her breast
creating the Milky Way!  :)
