I'm a little behind with my mail, forgive me if this is a saturated
topic by now!
We didn't even realize what we were doing ended up being a family bed 16
1/2 yrs ago. We made a "baby room', very economically (still, what a
waste!) and had a bassinet for our room. It didn't take me long to
figure out that getting up and sitting in a rocker to nurse was for the
birds. Also, I had one eye on that sweet little angel in the bassinet
and could hardly fall asleep. I ended up taking her into our spare
bedroom and sleeping with her during the week and then on weekends
taking her back into our room where my husband, finally, got use to her
being there and we all slept well! (Even though my mother did not BF us
she did carry us around and we were in her bed the majority of the time
so we always had family support and understanding.) When I came home
from my part time nursing job I use to find the two of them all snuggled
up in bed, it was the sweetest thing and my husband loved it, with both
of our children. It just made sense! In support group most of the moms
do a family bed or variation of. Very few put their children in another
room or bed.

We miss those feet in the face at 3 am!
