Dear friends,

I need your help. My daughter (living in Virginia) has been breastfeeding my
granddaughter for 11 months.  She is still feeeding frequently and wakes
during the night.  She has never had formula and only takes juice from a
cup, no milk.  Yesterday the baby's father took the baby (unknown place).
They are not married, but were living together.  My daughter has had no
contact with her daughter in over 24 hours. She went immediately to file for
custody and to find out what to do.  Everyone she spoke to told her there
was nothing she could do. The hearing for custody is in approximately two
weeks
I suggested she go to legal aid, but I am stuck as to anything I can
suggest.
Has anyone had this situation occur?  I am too close to the situation to
think clearly.
