When Geena whas 6 months I asked about vitamins and my ped said unless I
wanted to pay for expensive urine I could forgo the vitamins.
Regarding solids, Many mothers don't even introduce foods other than BM
until after a year. It's my understanding that solids in the first year
are just practice for later on.
One of my favorite BF benefits is the fact that even when you are giving
other foods you don't have to adhere to a strict regimine when BF. Geena
was 6 mos in the summer and if I got one meal into her a day that was a
lot.

It's great that your daughter is doing the best thing for her baby and
the ped should keep his opinion to himself and give valid information
only.

Sorry for the recurring soapbox re: ped's opinions.
