I think it is the PABA we are trying to avoid, plus their skins are
delicate and react to "glop" so easily.  The best is cover the baby,

I agree -- I opt for covering my children in something long and light as
much as possible. But my real question was, doesn't sunscreen (and for
that matter covering up) older babies and children prevent them from
getting enough vitamin D? This is, according to the media and "medical"
reports I've been reading, a problem in Canada, especially with
dark-complected children. This is what I gathered from Jack's book, as
well as the media. What should I be telling moms of darker babies (like
me)?
