Dear Rachel, that's OK, they haven't heard of germs in US either. All
colds are caused because kid went out without coat, hat, etc. Personally
I'm a great believer in fresh air! When mom is really having a problem I
frequently rec a nice walk with baby in sling or stroller. I can't believe
the temperatures that some people keep their houses at. It's as if being
chilly is a national sin. No one ever heard of a sweater :-)
The reason for keeping a baby at home for two weeks is to decrease exposure
to other people's germs, has nothing to do with temperature! And I
personally think new babies (less than 2 weeks) are taken to lots of
inappropriate places (grocery store, mall, church.) It's as if there is a
contest to see who can get out earliest! Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
