Congratulations to Jolyn for her diplomatic approach and positive results in
dealing with the incident at FAO Schwarz. Sometimes we want to rush in,
swords at the ready to do battle in these situations by staging a nurse-in
or other kind of protest. Those do have their place, but this experience
reinforces that more diplomatic approaches should be tried first. If there
had been a big protest right away it might have generated publicity, not all
necessarily positive, and management might have been more likely to dig in
their heels and stand firm rather than being open to the need for more
education. IMHO nurse-ins etc. should be reserved for after other
approaches have failed.

Winnie
