ATTENTION US ADVOCATES (especially those of you in the DC area):

Friday, 25 September 1998 at 12N there will be a press conference on the south
east US capitol steps for all nursing mothers and breastfeeding supporters.
The purpose is to give a STRONG message to congress and the media that
breastfeeding mothers have a right to breastfeed any place they are, including
federal property.  It is being billed as "THE GREAT AMERICAN MILK IN", and we
would love to have as many of you join us in this event!

Please pass this message on to all other listserves that may have an interest.
Everyone is welcome, including supportive men.

This is an outgrowth of the Maloney bill (H.R.3531).  As people were sharing
stories, one mother who was visiting the capitol with her baby was asked to
leave the house gallery because she was nursing her baby.  The members of the
women's caucus were mortified and so a bill to allow mothers to nurse their
babies when they are on federal property is happening.  Of course, if this
barrier has ever happened to you, PLEASE contact me immediately.
