Thanks for the responses! I should clarify that we also give mothers a small bowl to wash their pump parts in along with a bottle of Palmolive soap. Our mothers do not wash the equipment directly in the hand washing sink. After they wash their equipment, they pour the dirty water down the hand washing sink. Herein lies the issue. Is there anyone out there that does not let mothers/nurses wash the pump equipment over the sink and/or pour the dirty water down a hand wash sink? If so, what does your facility do? How do you clean the equipment?

Thanks,
Shirley
