Well, Sara, I'm right in the middle of it (being 49) and what I know is, is that many of the menopauzal problems are believed to be the result of decreasing estrogens. In that way, perimenopauze would be a better time to breastfeed: no estrogens to push prolactin away.
 
Warmly, perimenopauzal Gonneke, who on and off muses about trying to relactate -just for the fun of it- to see if it works in this live-fase ;-)
