See this is where it gets tricky.

Because on our floor we have done away with the term "combination feeding".  You are either breastfeeding or formula feeding.  If a breastfed infant is formula fed, an indication has to be documented in the chart that it was either supplemented for medical indications (and why) OR that is was maternal request after exclusive education was given. So no comb feeding..you are breastfeeding with a supplement (and yes, we are PROUDLY a baby friendly hospital :)   )

So if now, we are going back into combination feeding, everyone will be that.  I can easily see that as a very slippery slope.
It's kinda going back to the old "one bottle isn't going to hurt" mentality for me.

But on a more academic level what is that number going to tell us?  How many woman choose to exclusive breastfeed?  Why not just ask them? 

Or is it push back from people who don't like the exclusive numbers they're getting using TJC criteria for exclusive breastfeeding?
Because honestly? I think that's what it is.
