Yes, it does sound "normal" for a totally BF baby. We are finding that 
introducing the bottle around week 3-4 is better for acceptance. I would 
guess baby could chew more on an Avent nipple. Mom could try a sippy cup 
or spoon feeding. There is that bottle with the double nipple, 
breastflow, I think, that might work. Not making any money off this 
statement but that bottle nipple seems kind of chewable to me. Sometimes 
it takes time and the caregiver doing the feeding. I often suggest mom 
breastfeed first and then if she is the only one who can offer the 
bottle for training before she goes back to work, then try nursing on 
one side to make baby happy and give bottle with one ounce breastmilk in 
it and allow baby to "play" with it in her mouth. Do not try to force 
feed with a bottle when baby is starving and crying.
