Hmm, not if the stuff isn't providing any benefit for the money spent,
which is an ongoing question at this point. There also is an issue with
babies having diarrhea on the stuff. Also, and this would go state by
state, but WIC isn't providing it yet, so moms will have to pay out of
pocket. Yes, *if* it worked without harm and women weren't having to
pay for the advertising budget of the company in the markup on the
product, I'd say I'd rather see them feeding stuff with the EFAs than
without. That's a very big "if."

One would almost think the companies are deliberately pitting the
consumers against the government. Advertise this "even more like
breastmilk" stuff, upper income women won't bat an eye at the outrageous
price, lower income women will balk and then complain to WIC that they
aren't providing it in the program. Calls about discrimination and
classism go up because here are the richers getting the advantage again,
and the next thing you know the US government, already the largest
purchaser of infant formula in the world, is now the largest purchaser
of the most expensive, proven neither safe nor effective, formula in the
world.

But it would stimulate the economy, right? Because the stock prices for
the pharmaceutical companies would go up.
