 CIDA INTERNSHIP AVAILABLE
Through Kartini International Consulting Inc.
(and sponsored by both CIDA and the Alliance for Manufacturer's and Exporters)
Seven to eight month internship available with small, Toronto-based, for
profit, consulting firm specializing in provision of services in
international development. Firm's mandate includes:

1. Provision of quality consulting services and expertise in gender &
development, adult basic education, program assessment, project management
& conference/event coordination & planning;
2. To work towards the achievement of gender equality for women in
developing countries;
3. To work towards the development of practical and effective skills
training and basic education programming for adults.

Internship includes up to five months work in Canada and three months in
Singapore working with the CIDA-funded South East Asia Gender Equity
Program.

Project Summary
The Internship would be focusing on the areas of gender and development and
private sector development. In Canada, the Intern will be working on a
variety of projects, including coordination and research services for the
CIDA-funded Women Leaders' Network (WLN) project. The WLN is a dynamic and
flexible regional network composed of women leaders from the 21 APEC
economies who have made significant contributions to their economies and
societies in one or more fields and are drawn from civil society and
community organizations, the private and public sectors and academe. Their
mandate is to ensure that gender issues are integrated into all APEC
processes and that the potentially negative impacts of trade liberalization
on women are mitigated as well as the positive impacts supported.
