Hello all,
Just wanted to post a note to celebrate.  As many of you may remember, I
have recently worked on a proposal at the hospital where I work to add a
Lactation Specialist.  Many of you helped me with my proposal by telling me
about your own hospital programs.  Just wanted to follow-up on that, and at
the same time introduce the new Lactation Specialist to you all.

Her name is Keitha Chumney Madrie, and I have gotten her signed up to
Lactnet. She has been "lurking" for about a month.  I hope you all, from
your collective knowledge will teach her much!  She is has been a nurse
(working nursery) for about 14 years.  She is certified as a Low-risk
neonatal nurse and as a Lactation Counselor.  Hopefully next year she will
be able to sit for the International Board Exam.  She has really "hit the
ground running" as there is much to do here.  Previously there has been no
formal system sponsored by a hospital for moms in this community to receive
BF help after they are discharged from the hospital, nor has there been any
formal telephone follow-up system.

I am very excited about this new Lactation Service we have established, and
wanted to once again thank you all for your encouragement.
