Edie Eckman wonders about those RNs who give bad advice. The beauty of the
exam is, they won't pass! (Unless they start studying, and then they're
going to learn about breastfeeding...my experience here has been that all of
a sudden they're coming to me and saying, "hey! Did you know --" "Hey! Did
you know--" And yes I did know and now you do too!)

Dawn Kersula -- who started out LLL (1982) then Lamaze certified (1987) then
IBCLC (1992) and then RN (1996) -- with an English lit degree to begin
with...

I found the written part of the exam very easy when I took it (finished
before anybody else - in the Chicago section of the exam!) and then had a
harder time in the afternoon with the slides, because many things I had only
visualized over the phone. I did pass though! (And I know I will again this
summer but I'm still studying like crazy)

I feel I have a gift beyond compare working with moms in-hospital because I
KNOW moms go home and breastfeed successfully even when I'm shaking my head
here sometimes!
