If I recall correctly that the body of research for the last five years supports intervention if the pregnancy goes to _41_ weeks.  There is a significant increased risk of problems to the baby after that.  (I could probably dig up the references if I had a little more time; it's being quite a day)  This is a far cry from the practices being cited by list members.  And we all know that our C/S rate is too high.
