My own experience with breastfeeding and fasting
is that when my kids are infants (not taking
other foods yet) I take fluids (usually just
water) on fast days. Once they are older, I find
that I can fast with no problems. I judge if and
how much to drink by how I am feeling and how the baby
is doing, mostly an intuitive sense of things.
This is usually what I recommend to others who ask
me, I'm also always sure to let them know that this
is not a Jewish legal opinion or an official medical
opinion, just my own educated opinion.
  Hope this is helpful.
A happy, healthy, productive year for all
who are celebrating the new year now.
