Thank you Heidi for your interest and concern. Some babies are still
hospitalized. One baby went home a few days ago. There has been more
breastfeeding matters in the media since - mostly for better sometimes for
worse. (Meaning the newspaper coverage) A new breastfeeding clinic is being
opened up in one of our larger hospitals run by two IBCLC's which is very
good news. The LLL annual conference was held in November with high
attendance. Breastfeeding has certainly burst into the public consciousness
in the wake of the tragedy - what will be in the long run I do not know. It
will be interesting to see the statistics next year for bf starts and
continuation. Remedia is opening up again and feels it will be able to build
up it's market..........................which may tell the whole story.
Sincerely, Toby Gish RN, IBCLC (Haifa, Israel)
