I recently worked with a mother who had very bloody milk. There were
significant breastfeeding problems so she was pumping. The milk
gradually turned white over the next two weeks. I had encouraged the
mom to view milk as "white blood" and she was fine with it. The
pediatrician and ob both saw no problem with pumping/feeding this milk.
It was a good experience for me to see this first hand. Is this what is
referred to as "rusty pipe syndrome"?
