Karen, I'm not sure about the thyroid effects, but as Editor of the Nursing
Mothers' Association of Australia Newsletter, I have a letter from a Member
(herself a health professional) who experienced excessive sweating while
breastfeeding. She also talked to another mother with similar symptoms. She
presumed it was caused by 'hormone dumping' following the birth. Although
it was not mentioned in the letter, I guess it's possible these mothers had
thyroid disorders. Does anyone else know anything about other possible
causes of this?
