Thanks, Pat for your reply, that a little blood goes a long way.  I guess if
it mostly spits up again, then we need not be concerned about the digestive
after-effects?  (apart from nauseating the mother).

The baby is not tongue-tied - that's the first thing I checked.  Everything
LOOKED fine, it was only when I FELT that I found the problem.  Unluckily I
only read afterwards that such babies might  relax their tongues when fed
with chin tucked in.  This was after we had worked through the consultation
on the asymmetric latch, with chin stretched out, in an attempt to get the
pressure off the tips of the nipples.

It was one of those consults where I woke up the next day feeling like a
fool, embarrassed to put my initials after my post.  I discovered the
problem - big deal.  I didn't find a solution.

Yet!

Time may well help with the problem, but we will credit the laser for
healing the abrasions.
