Hi Judy,

I don't know if this will work in the case you describe, but how about cabbage?
 Cool green cabbage leaves directly on the breasts (I like to have the mom roll
them out with a rolling pin first) under the bra.  They need to be changed and
discarded every 2 hours.  I've never used them in this kind of case, but it is
a very benign treatment as a first try.  You just need to determine that the
mom has no allergy to sulfa drugs.  Apparently there is something in the
cabbage that can cause a reaction in moms allergic to sulfa.  Let us know what
happens.
