Some of you have shown interest when I have posted bits of infant-feeding history. So I am posting the link to my new article on advice sources used by mothers in the postwar period, 1945-1965. The setting is Queensland Australia. You will notice that the advice on breastfeeding left a lot to be desired and that, although most mothers started breastfeeding, many were exclusively artificially feeding by about three months. The article is from a larger study, and in 2001-2003 I published material from that on hospital advice, printed sources, and advertising. Several articles, in all.

When you access the link, click on "current" at the top and when the contents appear, my new article is the first one. It is in pdf as "Early Access", prior to being formatted. The link is:
