Norma and others,

ABM companies are in COMPETITION with breastfeeding (yes, I'm shouting).
Nobody is stupid enough to advertise for the competition - we don't see Chevy
trying to tell us how good the new Toyota cars are. It's been documented for
decades that R**S calculates market share in comparison to other brands, cow
milk, and breastfeeding. This information is from their own sales literature!

If ABM companies' BF literature actually "worked" and raised BF rates, they
would sell less of their products and therefore would lose money. Taking any
action that deliberately reduces income to stockholders violates trade laws
in the US, and they could be prosecuted for this action. ABM companies
"support BF" only so long as their information shortens, limits or otherwise
compromises the intensity or duration of BF. In this way do they increase
sales of their product. Any other purpose would be illegal. And stupid.

I challenge anyone to find ABM literature that tells clearly, accurately and
thoroughly how to make plenty of milk, how and why to breastfeed exclusively
6+ months, and continue 2 or more years. Bring it to ILCA and show me if you
find something like this!
