<<I'll gladly boycott NBC.... after the Biggest Loser season is over! I saw
the trailers for that show and it just made me sick to my stomach.

Margo Trueman>>

Margo, I feel the same way! TBL is the only show I watch, and am bummed to
miss an episode, but that's the way it is. I'm also a huge Hello Kitty fan,
**sigh**. This idea for a "reality show" is so pathetic, so much worse than
Wife Swap (which was bad enough - two mothers swapped homes/family/spouse
for 2 weeks, to "help" another family learn "how to do it better." right...
) At least the youngsters in this stupidity got to be with their family, not
abandoned.

And moreso than breastfeeding, my ire stems from the Erickson Stages of
Development - Trust vs Mistrust. Who knows what long-term consequences could
result from this "experiment" in "teaching responsibility?"

What if, just what if, teen pregnancy and lack of responsibility with our
teens today has a lot to do with the way our culture takes babies from their
mothers without a second thought? What if this experiment causes a deep rift
in the psyche of these affected babies, the consequences of which we'll pay
later, and for a long time? What if we're already paying these consequences
of our societal experiments, and that is the reason we have these ills?
Scary, isn't it?

Best wishes,
Sam Doak
