Jeanette,

Yes! I had 3 weeks of excruciating pain before posterior tongue tie was diagnosed and I felt like a terrible mom when involuntary feelings of anger would well up towards my baby, who was causing me so much pain. Even after the revision, it took a long time for me to be able to BF comfortably, and looking back on it, from this perspective that you've presented, I think some of it was that my body was conditioned to feel physical and emotional pain with BF. I finally had to just decide to stop paying attention to whether it was painful or not, because I knew I was going to continue anyways. Now, at 11 months old, BF is a comfort for both my son and I.

My cousin said that she thought the pain of BF was worse than unmedicated childbirth because you are voluntarily doing it to yourself and multiple times per day.

Thank you for your insight!
