Oohh! A pump in every room?
When I worked in hospital, the Powers That Be (JCAHO, State Dept of Health, CMS?) rejected the idea because of possible contamination by people other than mother (like visiting children, curious adults) handling the pump.
That mother may not need to use it, but do you KNOW it is still clean for the next patient in that room who DOES need to use it?
So we had to store pumps, cleaned and bagged, in a room where the public has no access.

I love the phrase "hands on pumping." It's so much nicer than hand expression for families. I wonder how having a pump in every mother's room impacts the idea that every mother should pump.
