Dear Lactnetters,

Re: The four year old with immune problems I posted a few weeks ago. Thank
you for your responses,,public and private. He is on synthroid. I never
meant to imply that he is not under proper medical care.

The mother contacted the Milk Bank of North America and Triangle in N.C.
They have suggested that approx 8 ounces a day of breast milk would help
him. ( He has a fever as we speak.) He was hospitalized last week for
testing to determine whether he needs immune globulin IV treatments. THe
mom does NOT want to do this!

THe pediatrician and immunologist are interested in the breast milk idea
but want docummented double blind studies... not antecdotal stories... are
there such articles????

TIA
