<<Happy and thriving.>>

I know it is really hard to ignore frank blood. But to me, this is the
bottom line. If the baby is happy and thriving, why not ignore it? If you
are going to treat the stool, then she can try giving the baby neocate
(although at this age he is likely to reject it) until his gut calms down,
then resume breastfeeding on a restricted diet.

Other thoughts:

It could be chicken or rice. I have seen both of these. If she is this
dedicated, she could remove one of the current foods she is eating for a
week or two and watch. BUT I have to say if stools are his only symptom, it
can take a long while to improve once the offending food(s) is (are)
removed. And I have had several babies whose moms are on severely restricted
diets for prolonged periods who continue to have green, slimey, heme
positive stools for months.

I really am so tired of this issue. I spend hours each week talking about
it. It is very frustrating for everyone concerned...especially when the baby
is miserable.
