Sounds like a valuable idea. However, I am a little concerned about the emphasis on various institutions etc. providing "breastfeeding spaces" without making it clear that they be available to mothers who wish to use them and not that any nursing mother would be required or even strongly "encouraged" to use them exclusively. Such plans must also make it clear that an infant has the right and need to nurse whenever and wherever mom may be without requiring that she hold baby off while she finds and goes to a special location. All too often when a mother is hassled for nursing her baby in public the critics defend their complaint by saying, "We offer a private place to do that!" as an excuse for telling a mom that therefore she cannot nurse when and where the baby/child needs to eat.IMO, much of the problem with the public nursing issue is complicated by our emphasis on the MOTHER'S right to nurse rather than the BABY'S right to nurse!Winnie Mading - retired, but still advocating whenever the issue arises
