Alicia Claesson wrote asking for suggestions to help
Breastfeeding Mothers increase the duration of Breastfeeding.
There were so many great suggestions. I have one more little
suggestion. When an employer is giving a woman a hard time
about taking breaks to Breastfeed or pump, it sometimes
helps if an LC intervenes. I have suggested to employers
(this is in the US) that preventing a woman who is
Breastfeeding from taking breaks to pump may be an OSHA
violation as this can lead to mastitis. Best wishes on your
research. Chris Erland RN, IBCLC
