I've noted that some obstetricians prescribe contraceptives starting
immediately postpartum and/or at 1 week postpartum. It is the progestin-only
pill. Have also seen a couple obstetricians prescribe 2 days of reglan
(metaclopramide) immediately postpartum to "help the milk supply" in mothers
with no identified risk factors. I take issue with both of these practices.

Also had a low milk supply case and when I questioned about medications,
mother reports none. When specifically questioned about contraceptives,
mother reports yes she's on micronor already at 1 wk postpartum. Just a hint
to be specific in asking this question, also ask about the birth control
shot. I also ask about "cold, allergy, sinus medicines" and the like.
