Hi Mary,
I can really believe this difficulty. I have another example related more to tongue mobility issues perhaps. I recently tried to drink water while holding a sublingual pill under my tongue. Somehow forgot it was there, started to finish my glass of water. Without the freedom to move my tongue I choked and experienced severe throat and upper chest pain from the attempt. It really made me think of those poor babies who cry at the breast that they just dove for...it must hurt! Another thing we could have parents try, with a Jelly bean or an m&m or something when they are unconvinced the tongue tie is having an effect.
