Barb, when I am very clear, and up front, with no apologies, no tonality,
they take it just fine.

I have had no problems. It is a myth to think that mothers feel that free
service is better. I know that mothers and others do not always value
"free" services, or judge them as more valuable than those that they pay
for. They often think that free services are less credible, or discardable.

I get charged for time, either in person or on the phone by my lawyer, my
homeopathic physician, my physician, etc. Other professionals don't think
they should give their services away, and I take that lead. That way, I
don't feel taken advantage of, hurried, harried, and resentful.

Kathleen
