I have posted in quite awhile and should re-introduce myself. I'm an
LLLL and mother of 4 who were breastfed.

This WIC topic is one that matters a lot to me. I was on WIC for
Meghan's first year, and we really did appreciate the extras for
breastfeeding. Meghan was a slow gainer at first, but the WIC people
were never concerned and encouraged me to breastfeed without
supplements. I've been led to believe this is rare. I do wish WIC
wouldn't give out infant cereal coupons though, they are such a waste.

Many people I know have used food stamps, and there is a lot of abuse of
that program. They will buy ice cream and candy bars, frozen snack
foods, etc. WIC is a much more effective program at getting good foods
into the hands of the consumer, IMHO.

And now back to lurk mode.
