We have been mandated to change the brand of our HMF and are now facing a
situation where we are having difficulties with "clumping". I believe it
was Linda Smith who stressed the fragility of the components in human milk
and the impact of vigorous shaking in breaking down the "links" between the
components. When I go in the NICU feeding preparation room and see the
nurses shaking forever to get the HMF dissolved I just cringe. This was not
an issue previously and I'm looking for answers. I would also be
interested in hearing from anyone regarding their reasons behind choosing
one HMF over another.

Thanks for any help you can give me
Kathy English RN,BSN,IBCLC
