Remember, the point here is IF a bad outcome occurred. (Clients don't sue
for good outcomes.) Bad outcomes sometimes happen because well-intentioned
people do things that they never dream would be harmful.

If a bad outcome *did occur* the company who makes the syringe is not
likely to show up in court backing up the safety of their product if it was
used for a purpose other than what they designed it for. The company who
makes the "prettily packaged" product would be.

If I manufacture goop to make your client's hair silky soft, and if your
client's hair falls out after you recommend that she use it, I'm going to
be right in court, right beside you, defending my product. If your client
puts the goop on her eyelashes and she goes blind, I'm going to say, oh
well, that's not what I designed it for, and we'll all read about it in the
newspaper the next morning.

If a bad outcome occurs, at least you have a prayer of being exonerated if
the product was used for purpose for which it was designed.

>Oh puhlease people!!
>Anyone who has actually used a cut off 20cc syringe as a nipple everter
>(ihave, many times) couldn't possibly imagine a situation where it's use
>could cause a problem that could have been avoided by the prettily packaged
>one that costs MONEY. THEY ARE THE SAME GADGET, oh but then again one was
>"specifically designed" to suck out a nipple and thus because the
>manufacturer implies so, it must be better? Is there another manufactured
>item, prettily packaged that costs money and is specifically designed
>to..........?!!!!! hmmmm....
