Re the Lancet paper.  I have a copy but have not had time to read it carefully
yet.  The cohort are people now in their 60's and 70's.  They are the group from
Hertfordshire whose Health Visitors had kept records of how they were fed ie
breast or bottle during the 20's and 30's.  Barker published papers some years
back looking at ischaemic(sp?) heart disease with this cohort.  Obvious flaws
are how accurate are the records?  How honest were the mothers reporting use of
dummies?  What were the babies fed if not breastmilk?  Can we draw conclusions
about breastfeeding vs current infant formulae?  Certainly the researchers
expected to confirm greater intelligence in those breastfed.  But it wasn't
there.   The dummy effect remained after screening out social class etc.

Would we expect a levelling out with increasing years?  I don't know much about
IQ tests - except for friends who don't think much of them anyway - do results
remain constant, or do they change with the years?

I will read the paper and try to post any words of wisdom tomorrow.
