I have done this  only" occasionaly".  The reasons for would be a mom that
could not move much for whatever reason.  The reason I don't do it often is
the mother has such  a poor view that she has no idea of how to do it
herself.  And many times the baby sinks into the breast with his whole face
so that you have to hold something or pull something to keep him breathing.
  On the issue of pushing the baby on to the breast and the aversion factor-
 I think it can be done correctly.  No-don't push on the back of the head.
 Pull the baby in with the hand on the shoulder area.   And yes it some times
is done quickly or you miss the open mouth.
     Those who opose this:  Do you work in hospitals?  Do you have maybe this
one time to get it right or not at all?  I feel that if I can get the baby on
CORRECTLY  at least once MAYBE  he/she  will remember and do it again!  (
imprinting)  I believe in being gentle with babies.  I hope this doesn't
sound otherwise.
