Ellen,
I work for a WIC program. Before WIC programs were allowed to spend food
dollars on breast pumps, we used the N..III pump as a loaner for our working
mothers; reused the motor only and gave each mother a new kit of tubing ,
flanges etc. The pump worked great! Our mothers reported satisfaction
with the amount of milk they got. More importantly for us, the motors got
heavy use several times day & they lasted through many mothers. We had
about 200 motors over a 6 year period and only had a handful break or need
to be returned for repair. When mothers are taught how to use it, they like
it. Having to use your finger to place over the hole to make the pump cycle
is a bit of a nuisance at first but some moms liked this option which
allowed them to pump quicker. It had it's pros & cons but it is a good
quality pump that works & worth the cost!
We got a different pump through a bidding contract that the mothers like &
it automatically cycles. We can already tell that this new pump would never
last as long a the N...III, an advantage for a mother who might have several
babies.
