A contact of mine in Los Angeles has asked me to find a breastfeeding
advocate to attend a meeting /maybe it's a speakout/ on Saturday July 14.
Topic: welfare reform.

Relevance to breastfeeding: It is an obstacle to normal infant feeding when
women are forced to leave their babies and go out to get a job---often
low-waged, with no child care available.  It works against what we've trying
to accomplish at WIC.  And this year it's time for the re-authorization of
welfare reform, so now is the time to get involved in discussing what we'd
like our politicians to do differently.
