Correct me if I am wrong--I understood that the reason the dishwasher
sterilized dishes, etc., was because the detergent contained bleach, not
because the water gets very hot. Checking my box of detergent, however,
it did not list bleach as one of the ingredients. Some of the newer
dishewashers have a cycle in which the dishes get sanitized--the water gets
heated enough to pass govt. requirements for nursing homes, day care, etc.
